Tasting Notes: By Tasos Protopapas

Nose: An explosion of intense aromas of Peat, (167 PPM) burnt wood and ash will make you want to get a whiff of your glass over and over again. Tinges of characteristically sweet and tardy odour, sea breeze, iodine, freshly squeezed lemons and distinct traces of red fruits. Adding a drop of water strengthens the fruity and sweet aromas, with vanilla and acorns being dominant.

Palate: Spicy, rich and full bodied. The taste of red hot chilli peppers, create a mouth burning sensation which is followed by the flavours of peat, ginger, salt crusted cod and smoke.

Finish: Big, warm and long finish. The smoky aromas seem to last forever!

A Peat-Full Miracle

Producer's Informations:

The world's most heavily peated whisky, this is the sixth edition of the uber-experimental cult Octomore.

Titanic amounts of peat but with a light, delicate complexity and a beguiling finesse. Young, yet eminently mature, it defies us. It remains an enigma. We embrace that.

Here, we pay tribute to its pedigree, to the land from which it came and the raw materials that gave it life: Octomore Scottish Barley.

We believe challenging convention matters.
