Lagavulin Distillers Edition 2013 43% Vol

Tasting Notes: By Tasos Protopapas

Nose  : An ambrosial bouquet of peat and smoke with iodine notes and smoked bacon are exploded on the first whiff. The noising puzzle is completed with delicate aromas of seaweed, raisins, dry fruits and immature plums which are surrounded by a refreshing and salty sea breeze.

Palate: A superb full bodied and salty dram! At first, pleasantly intense peat flavour dominates the taste, followed by red fruits and freshly grounded coffee which concludes to sweet and fruity touch on the tongue. At the end is dry and very well rounded with a perfectly balanced smoky taste

Finish: Very Long  spicy and smoky with hints of cocoa.

The addition of some drops of water reveals a woody and sweet character and softens the peatyness. The saltiness remains and tastes fantastic!

Just close your eyes and enjoy "responsibly" this charming and seductive dram!
